The Law of the Mall<\/h2>\n

You know about God\u2019s Law of the Harvest<\/strong>, right?\u00a0 We reap what we sow. When we sow, we prepare the ground to receive the seed. We plant the seed and then water and fertilize . . . weed, water, wait . . . weed, water, wait . . . weed, water, wait . . . for a long time until the seed grows and then finally the harvest comes.<\/p>\n

But in our day, we seem to want to live by the Law of the Mall<\/strong>\u2014\u201cI see it, I want it, I\u2019m getting it! NOW!\u201d
\n\"\"Instant gratification. It doesn\u2019t even matter if you don\u2019t have the money.\u00a0 Use your credit card! Everything about our day is fast!\u00a0 Fast food!\u00a0 Breaking news!\u00a0 Fast cars! Communication at our very fingertips!\u00a0 We get impatient when we have to wait for anything.<\/p>\n

Does the Lord work that way? \u00a0Not usually.<\/p>\n

Why not?<\/p>\n

Isn\u2019t there more to be gained when we work for something over a period of time?\u00a0 We value the things we give our effort to.\u00a0 The things of the spirit are valuable, godly even, and not to be trifled with or disrespected or unappreciated.\u00a0 God needs to see how badly we want those things.\u00a0 Are we willing and patient enough to plant the seed in our heart then water, weed and wait . . . \u201cwait upon the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n

Choose ye this day which law you want to follow.<\/p>\n

God\u2019s harvest is not now.\u00a0 But it will be worth the wait!<\/p>\n

Scripture references to sowing and reaping<\/strong><\/p>\n

2 Kings 19:29: “This\u00a0is\u00a0the word that the\u00a0Lord\u00a0hath spoken concerning him; The\u00a0virgin\u00a0the daughter of Zion hath despised thee,\u00a0and\u00a0laughed\u00a0thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.<\/em>”<\/p>\n

Job 4:8: “Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and\u00a0sow\u00a0wickedness, reap the same<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

Psalms 126:5: “They that sow in tears shall reap in\u00a0joy<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

Proverbs 22:8: “He that\u00a0soweth\u00a0iniquity shall\u00a0reap\u00a0vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

Hosea 10:12: “Sow to yourselves in\u00a0righteousness,\u00a0reap\u00a0in mercy;\u00a0break\u00a0up your fallow ground: for\u00a0it is\u00a0time to seek the\u00a0Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.”<\/em><\/p>\n

John 4:36: “And he that reapeth receiveth\u00a0wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may\u00a0<\/span>rejoice\u00a0together.<\/em>”<\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 9:6: “But this\u00a0I say,\u00a0He which soweth sparingly shall\u00a0reap\u00a0also sparingly; and he which\u00a0soweth\u00a0bountifully shall reap also bountifully<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

Galatians 6:7-8: “Be not\u00a0deceived; God is not\u00a0mocked: for whatsoever a man\u00a0<\/span>soweth, that shall he also\u00a0reap. \u00a0For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”<\/em><\/p>\n

DC 6:33: “Fear\u00a0not to do\u00a0good, my sons, for whatsoever ye\u00a0sow, that shall ye also reap; therefore, if ye sow\u00a0good\u00a0ye shall also reap good for your\u00a0reward.<\/em>”<\/p>\n
